Colorado Rockies (38-50) are at Petco Park in San Diego, California to face the San Diego Padres (52-38) in a National League game tonight at 9:10 PM CT.
The Rockies exploded for a team combined 9 runs and a win against the Diamondbacks yesterday; after dropping the two games prior. They seem to be back on track. With the MLB All-Star Game fast approaching players are out here trying to show their best stuff who were snubbed from contention.
San Diego Padres are solid at Petco Park going (32-17) at home so far. Should come as no surprise when you gloss through their talent in the clubhouse. Sharp bettors caused the line to move up to 9 runs from 8.5 initially.
The only thing that worries me about the Rockies is their awful away record. However, the Padres are sending out starting pitcher R. Kneher (0-0) who has not recorded a pitch in the majors all year. Seems like they are feeding him to the wolves tonight.
Padres should be able to hammer a lot of runs home up against Rockies staring left-handed pitcher K. Freeland (1-2). Bolstering a 5.5 ERA and been in trouble against this Padres team before. This game is a recipe for the over.
Preston’s Best Bet: OVER 8.5 Total Runs (-136)
