Minnesota Twins (12-21) are at Guaranteed Rate Field for the second game of three in this current series against the Chicago White Sox (20-13).
The Line: Minnesota Twins (+120) vs. Chicago White Sox (-142)
Minnesota Twins will send left-handed pitcher J.A. Happ to the mound. Bolstering a 2-0 record and a 1.91 ERA, 16 Strikeouts and 8 walks. Chicago White Sox will send left-handed pitcher Dallas Keuchel to the mound. Keuchel has a 1-1 record, a 3.79 ERA, 17 Strikeouts and 14 walks. Keuchel is coming off an impressive performance against the Cincinnati Reds last Wednesday. However, the game was recorded as no-decision for Keuchel.
A handful of the White Sox batting order has seen Twins starting pitcher J.A. Happ before. Tim Anderson has hit two homeruns off of Happ. Jose Abreu averages a solid .306 batting average against Happ in 13 At Bats. I’ll even toss in Leury Garcia as sensational against Happ with a batting average of .444. Nelson Cruz has been in a thorn in the side of Dallas Keuchel in recent memory blasting 5 dingers off of him! However, much of the Twins lineup has been below average against Keuchel or hasn’t faced him before.
Small winds are blowing in from left field at the time of this article. Temperature is rather cool around 54 degrees Fahrenheit and set to gradually drop by first pitch. Twins have found themselves in a rut recently. To their credit it’s been more about finishing strong than playing well overall. They find themselves up against the premier team in the MLB when it comes to hitting the baseball. Not to mention White Sox are crushing the ball against left-handed pitchers with a .349 batting average and .849 on base %.
