The Line: Denver Nuggets (-124) vs. Portland Trail Blazers (+106)
‘Phenom’ Nikola Jokic leads the Denver Nuggets (37-20) into the Moda Center at the Rose Quarter (what a mouthful), to face off against the Dame ‘Dolla’ Lillard backed Portland Trail Blazers (32-25).
Denver is coming off of an overtime win two days ago against the Memphis Grizzlies. Prior to that game they had two days in-between an easy win over the Houston Rockets. This is a well-rested Denver Nuggets team that might not start out hot but will settle in over the course of this game.
Portland is entering this game on back-to-back nights after a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Prior to that both of their last two games were on the road; winning one in Charlotte against the Hornets. Portland is shooting an ugly field goal percentage this season tied nineteenth with the Toronto Raptors. Opposed to the Denver Nuggets tied for 5th overall in the NBA with the Utah Jazz.
These can be the games that separate teams from contention come Playoff time. Both teams have supporting casts that have proven to compile a lot of scoring at times. These two teams played each other last on February 23, 2021. Dame Lillard and Jamal Murray did not play. Denver cruised to a 111-106 win over Portland.
Denver has a (17-10) away record while Portland has a (16-13) home record. Giving us an edge knowing Portland hasn’t played well at home this season. The advantage on the boards leans toward the Nuggets tonight; along with the team defense.
