The Line: New Orleans Pelicans (+130) vs. Boston Celtics (-154)
Zion Williams leads the (PF) New Orleans Pelicans (20-25) into TD Garden for a head to head matchup with (PF) Jayson Tatum and the somewhat short-handed Boston Celtics (23-23).
Tonight the Boston Celtics will be without one of their best players in (SG) Jaylen Brown. Who accounts for a significant portion of the teams scoring night in and night out. (SG) Evan Fournier who the Boston Celtics recently picked up will play for the first time after clearing protocols. The Celtics last game was against Oklahoma City Thunder who they beat with ease. However, the Celtics have struggled against Western Conference Opponents all-season.
New Orleans will be no easy task as they are picking up steam in the second half of the season after the all-star break. Zion is on pace for a monster season and Brandon Ingram is good old reliable from anywhere on the court. They need the bench to chip in heavily tonight to finish off the Celtics. Things don’t get easier for them as they will be without (PG) Lonzo Ball for this contest.
Tonight I feel the Celtics will be looking to get Evan Fournier acclimated with the offense. I don’t know how the new-look Celtics will operate. However, it will take more than one game before they are a well-oiled machine. Down Jaylen Brown and playing a team that ranks higher in points per game, rebounds, and assists. I know where I’m laying my money tonight.
Preston’s Best Bet: New Orleans Pelicans +3.5 (-118)
