The Line: Nasrat Haqparast (-560) vs. Rafa Garcia (+400)
Nasrat Haqparast (12-3) quickly avenged his KO/TKO loss to Drew Dober against Alex Munoz in a unanimous decision bout last August. This is the UFC debut for Rafa Garcia. Rafa is an undefeated (13-0) on the amateur circuit. Nasrat is no easy out for Rafa and with 9 KO/TKO’s on his resume; Nasrat will be looking to improve his record tonight. 7 of Rafa Garcia’s wins have come by way of submission. However, Nasrat has an 81% takedown defense and is fancy on the feet. Nasrat has a height and size advantage coming into this bout.
Preston’s Wager: UNDER 2.5 Rounds (-125)
The Line: Leon Edwards (-260) vs. Belal Muhammad (+215)
Leon Edwards (18-3) steps into the octagon after a one year and eight month layoff. A daunting task lies ahead of him as Belal Muhammad (18-3) is on a roll. Belal Muhammad averages 4.86 strikes landed per minute opposed to Leon Edwards 2.53. Although Belal absorbs 4.03 strikes per minute minute; his output his higher and double his opponent Edwards output.
Belal looked like he has put all of the pieces together. In each of Belal’s last four fights especially he has been in full control. I expect ring rust from Edwards early on. Neither fighter should tire out early. Belal will be able to neutralize Leon Edwards grappling with his 84% takedown defense that shouldn’t be overlooked. Averaging two takedowns a minute should neutralize Leon Edwards slim reach advantage.
Preston’s Best Bet: Belal Muhammad ML (+215)
