Great match up between Toronto and the Revs here. NE Revolution are a control heavy team and will create opportunities with corners plus great inside passing to try securing an early lead. New England Revolution is coming off of a 1-1 draw against D.C. United. The Revs took the lead and one sloppy pass later D.C. United kicked a goal in and tied it up in the second half. The Revolution looked good most of that game. Expect the Revolution to tighten up their defense and passing. Reason being; the Revs can obtain a top spot in Group C if they beat Toronto FC.
Toronto FC want to push the pace and more recently are red hot. Toronto enters this game coming off a 4-3 win over Montreal Impact. Ayo Akinola was sensational and finished with a hat-trick (3 goals scored). Toronto is going to do whatever it takes to finish with a win; however, I foresee the Revolution being a hard test for Toronto FC. Toronto FC has 9 goals in the tournament compared to the Revolutions 4. The rest of the stat line is nearly identical with the exception of; Toronto FC conceding 7 goals compared to the Revolutions 4 conceded goals.
Predictions: New England Revolution will be close to splitting possession time with Toronto FC by the end of this one. We will see plenty of opportunities for goals but I believe both defenses will rule the day. At most I see 3 goals being scored over the 90 minute period including stoppage time.
My wagers: Toronto FC Draw No Bet (-170)
Under 3.5 Goals (-190)
